Back in the blogosphere

Decided to come back and blog again. I’ve been a little busy with moving to Vancouver and all that stuff so I was off from the grid of blogging, again. I hope to start again though. I am taking a Communications for New Media course and I thought that my blog would be the right place to actually practice what I am learning in that course. Of course with just this paragraph, I am not practicing it at all. Haha!

I am not one for make-ups or anything girly from the moment I was born until 2 and a half years ago. Tell you the truth, I don’t even know why I suddenly became interested in make-ups and skirts and all that girly stuff. After graduating from college, I started buying skirts, more girly clothes and started became interested in make-up. A late bloomer, maybe? Haha! Even a friend told me that our way of dressing up suddenly switched. She was the one wearing simple t-shirts and jeans/shorts and I was the one with the girly outfit.

We crossed the border to the US during Veteran’s day and look what I got my hands into.

Got this for $5 at Target I think in Bella’s Fair? Sorry, I can’t remember. They also had another set which contained a more colorful set. My cousin got that one and I got this. They also had a couple of other stuff for $5 and some for $10.

I haven’t tried it as of date cause I don’t have any eyeshadow brushes. I don’t like the one it comes with so I am still looking for a set of brushes from Sephora. Was about to buy one a while ago but they didn’t ship to Canada for free. They only ship if I get something that’s worth $120 or more.. I’m not that into make-up to spend $120 or more so, no thanks. I’ll probably look at the store instead.

I’ve been here for 2 months ad 2 days, exactly and all that I can say is I love Vancouver. I know you’ll say, “but it’s always raining and gloomy there”. I know and I like it. I’m not much for the sun. Sorry to say, but I hate the sun. At least I did when I was in the Philippines. I hated walking when the sun is out. Now, I love walking.

I have 10 more months of Canada before my school ends. I’m making the best out of it. :)

Winter/Fall Clothing…?

So, winter and fall clothing. I arrive in Canada probably late September. According to a friend there, the weather in September is still a little warm and it gets cold by October.

Coming from a tropical island, I am not used to too much cold. Haha! I love the cold when we go up the mountains during December, but the lowest I experienced there was probably 10 degrees C. I did experience San Francisco cold last October, I’m just not sure how cold that was, but let me tell you this, I was DEFINITELY freezing! Then again, we weren’t that prepared for cold when we went to the US last year cause our San Fran trip was only layovers, coming and going back. All I brought then were thin clothes, good for walking. I just brought a couple of long sleeves for San Fran, but they didn’t work. Haha!

This time I think I know where I am going. I mean, Vancouver will be my final destination, not Florida. So while I was telling my grandmother about me getting my visa and leaving next month, we came to the “clothes” part, specifically the coats. She then got up and told me that she had a couple of coats that might fit me.

We time traveled back to the 1970′s when coats are made-to-order here in the Philippines. The first coat that got out of the closet was the brown coat at the back. It’s leather up front and the lining inside is F-U-R and I LOVE it! For me, it’s perfect for winter, I’m just not sure if it’s enough. The other two are good enough probably for the fall weather? I don’t know. Haha! But I love the green coat. At first look it looks weird, but when I wore it, I fell in love with it. :3

So, my mom’s order not to buy coats here, well, that’s still there.. But the thing here is, I didn’t buy these.. I borrowed them. :3

Excited and Scared

I paid a visit to the Canadian Embassy here in Manila last August 1. I took a leave from work for one whole day just to get things over and done with.

My visa was not arriving, and I did not receive any email of any sort from the embassy when I sent them a follow-up message a month prior to my visit.

Arriving there at 8AM, I found myself cold, not only from the air condition, but also of nervousness.

They called my name thrice before they gave me a coupon and told me to come back that same afternoon for the results.

I came back that afternoon at the time that they instructed me to (a little early though), and I couldn’t stop smiling until I slept that night.

My visa was accepted and I am Canada bound this September. :)

The featured image of this post will be the image I will be using for the time being as I haven’t arrived there. It is a shirt that I bought in ZARA a couple of weeks before I went to the embassy. My sister forced me to buy it. LAW OF ATTRACTION, as “The Secret” said. It works. It definitely works. You just have to do something about what you want to attract to yourself, of course. You can’t just stand there and wait for it.

I got the shirt without knowing if I would be accepted or not. I told them I will only start wearing the shirt the moment I get my visa. The time arrived, the shirt was not with me. I left it at home. I wore it 6 days later when I got home. My mom was smiling when she saw me wearing it. It only means one thing for us, I am leaving soon.

Excited for the fact that I am going to a new country and staying there for 1 year, ALONE. Scared, well, the word “ALONE” scared the hell out of me.
