Jam Packed

One more month before term 2 ends and everything is really pilling up. The entire month of March is pretty much booked for me with regards to projects and papers and presentations. @.@  Sigh, the life of a student.

This kinda makes me miss working. I said before I graduated college that I will never miss being a student. But it bit me in the ass when I started working. I suddenly missed being a student and so here I am. And again, I am missing the 8-hour day work schedule where when I get home I do nothing but cook or hang out with my boyfriend or go to the movies or just around the mall.

Since I do not know that much people here and seeing as my boyfriend is not here, I rarely go out cause it’s a little boring going out and about alone. I miss my high school friends and going home early in the morning trying to figure out how to get inside the house cause I don’t have keys to the gate and the doors.

But, life goes on. After term 2, I have two more terms to fight with before I can actually attain freedom from school, again. And sure enough, after a few months of working, I will once again miss being a student.

So! I cannot think of any other topic to think about.. And I was just thinking, I will start taking pictures of my outfits everyday and post them here. Tell me your thoughts about them. I’ve only been using coats and boots for the past 5 months and what I can tell you is that I have certainly not mastered the art. Heck, I haven’t even mastered the art of summer fashion even though I come from a tropical country!  :haha:

Outfit 1 will start tomorrow. :) Suggestions and comments are welcome for my outfits.. But please refrain from getting mad at me for making the wrong combinations. As I said, I am still new to this kind of outfit. :)

Also, since I am already taking pictures of the dishes that I serve or prepare for myself, I might as well post them here too. :)

New Year Summary

Busy first term, busy second term. What else is new. Hello! I’m back. Sorry for the absence. :hi:

Forgive me if I don’t know what to talk about as I had been gone from blogging for the past how many months, let alone years when I started to stop.

2012 is here, and I am still struggling here.

For those of you who do not know, I arrived in Vancouver, Canada last September 2011 for studies. It had always been my dream to go abroad and experience  a different culture and lead a different life. Different from what I have back home in the Philippines.

Everything has definitely been new to me. The weather, the people, the transit system, even the way people drive and the fact that they rarely use their horns.

Term 1 had ended last January, just the week before my birthday and so far, all I can say is I am still good and standing strong. I miss my family and friends of course, but what is a new place and a new life without new friends right? I consider my relatives and my parent’s friends here as family (direct) as they are the ones who help me through my struggles and support me if I have any questions or if I need anything. I am very thankful for that.

The Girl in Me

December 4, 2011 7 comments

The girl in me went shopping, again, even though I told myself that I am done shopping for the year. Well, technically, I didn’t spend that much. I finally got the brush that I needed for my eye shadows.

Initially, I wanted a brush set from Sephora. I went to the store and suddenly found the brush set that I wanted a little too expensive. Haha! That’s me. When it’s online, I don’t find it that expensive. But when I’m actually in the store and getting it, I suddenly find it expensive.

So, I was holding a traveler brush set – which was the cheapest I could find at $42 I think – and I was already in line, when I saw this. It’s a stick, basically. A stick of brushes for the eyes.

At first I thought it looked weird and might ruin the brushes in time cause it’s magnet (they magnet together to look like a pen or something). But then again, I thought, I’m a beginner in putting make up in my eyes, why buy something expensive now? Got these for $12. :)

In addition to that, I got myself a mascara a while ago. Superstore was in their “No Tax Event” when we went there so I decided to get these. Loreal Double Extend Mascara. I always wanted to got one of these and try them on since I lost the double mascara that my sister gave me a while back (I think I left it in her place and she just decided to take them back? I don’t know. Haha!)

I tried them out as soon as I got back home. Then I realized, I needed the eyelash curlers. That’s the next and definitely the last thing that I will be getting for myself this year. I’ve had enough buying. Haha!

But, needless to say, I am happy with all my purchases. Even though they may cost a little more than I expected to be spending, I am happy. :)
