There is a saying that we Kapampangans (people from the province of Pampanga, as well as Angeles City) make good food, and make food look good when we eat it.
My grandmother’s sister makes GREAT food during the years that she could still manage the kitchen. Now, their maid/cook/house-keeper makes the food (who is also Kapampangan) which she learned from my grandmother and my uncle who is also fond of cooking.
Even my dad loves to try new kinds of food, exotic or not. Supposedly, we are that type of people.
I am not 100% Kapampangan as I am half and half. But recently, I had been into cooking. Mostly because I really wanna learn how to cook.
Here is a list of what I have done so far:
- Cream Dory fish fillet
- Pork-stig (Pork Steak with Soy Sauce)
- Pork Adobo
- Steamed Dory with lemon-butter sauce
- Kaldereta
- [EDIT] Hotdog with Garlic, Butter, and Ketchup
Aside from making the fish fillet a little too salty, I have been successful so far.
Other than that, here are the others I have already mastered over the years:
- Spam
- Cornbeef
- Sausage
- Hotdog
- Eggs
- Canned Tuna
- Cream of Mushroom soup
- Instant Pancit Canton
Lots and lots of canned goods.
I’ll list down a couple of my recipes here and where I based them from. Browse on them if you want to taste some Filipino food.
Take note that this may cause some smell that your neighbors, or you, might not like. Just a warning given before-hand.
