My Valentine’s Day

This is my very first post (as I can remember) for Valentine’s Day. I can’t remember that I did something this fun before. But as far as Valentine’s is concerned, this is THE most fun Valentine’s Day I EVER had.
So here’s a list of what happened:
WHAT I DID:
- Dad woke me up at 5AM to go to Clark Air Base for the Hot Air Balloon Festival (I slept at 3:50AM so technically, I only had 2 hours of sleep… Even less..
) - Left the house around 5:45AM
- Arrived the Festival site around 7:15AM (from our house to Clark without traffic is usually only around 30 mins) and saw the a few hot air balloons already on the sky
- Took pictures of the hot air balloons while my sister drove towards the site (even got my head bumped on both sides at the same time while trying to attempt on taking a picture from the car window using a DSLR)
- Got dust all over myself from the parking just as we arrived
- Took more pictures of hot air balloons on flight or attempting to fly after we got inside (after paying 100php per person)
- There was an Elephant hot air balloon that couldn’t get itself lifted off the ground that high and it landed just right before the main road of Clark. Would have been fun to be there seeing a gigantic elephant approaching you.
) - The Coca-Cola hot air balloon had the same situation where it couldn’t get itself lifted that hight and also landed just before the main road. My dad joked about it saying that the regular Coke had a lot of calories, the reason that it couldn’t lift itself. He said that they should have used Coke Zero where it was lighter than air.

- Saw a few DLSU friends (namely Ricco and Andrew)
- Onee-chan switched lenses with Ricco to get a feel of his Telephoto lens
- Got a spot front seat because the Indians who were, I guess, trying to reserve the spot was sleeping in a mat just behind us)
- Watched a few paragliding aerobatics planes things fly (exhibited some manuvers which were TOTALLY COOL)
- Went home because the show was getting a bit boring (got ourselves stamped so that we won’t have to pay for another ticket when we come back)
- Transferred all pictures taken to the iMac and erased all pictures from onee-chan’s DSLR)
- Took a bath
- Fell asleep while waiting for Vinno to arrive
- Our maid woke me up saying that Vinno had arrived and that it was time to eat
- I went down to the lanai and found Vinno there. I went straight to the sofa and laid down to his lap again. Then he gave me flowers and greeted me a Happy Valentine’s Day
- Ate lunch
- Played with Alex for a bit then dressed up while Vinno played with her (at first she was shy, then she got to play with him)
- Onee-chan asked mom where my dad’s camera stuff was hidden so we went over his stuff to look for either a lens or a filter just to protect her lens. Unfortunately, the filters wouldn’t fit her lens.
- We left the house and went back to the Festival
- We arrived there around 4PM, just in time for the afternoon round of the morning schedule (we were able to see what we eventually missed that morning)
- We had set up our picnic mat which we got at home so that we would have somewhere to sit while we waited
- Vinno and I went to buy us Zagu’s cause it was SO hot
- There was this skydiving guy who proposed to his girlfriend through skydiving with a note on his leg (actually, I don’t know it that guy was the one proposing…). The note said, “Will you be my Valentine forever? Will you marry me?” I didn’t get to see the reaction of the girl cause I did not know where she was and we were in line
- After finishing our Zagu and got to watch a few paragliding exhibitions, Vinno and I went around the place looking for something to do.
- We got Henna Tattoos!
I had a flower drawn on my right hand and Vinno got a yin yang sign on his left (I wasn’t able to take a pic of his but I can take a pic of mine..
) - We were supposed to look for a kite for me to fly and a souvenir for his grandmother. But I accidentally touched his henna so I ran towards onee-chan to get the alcohol. Just in time, she was also calling me because we had to move and she had to get the tripod cause it was already around 5PM that time. The Night Glow was about to start.
- Vinno left me at the picnic mat cause he bought me a kite!
I wasn’t able to fly it though. It was already getting dark and I was doing something at that time. - Onee-chan had set up the tripod and her DSLR near the fences so that she could get a clear view of the Hot Air Balloon Night Glow. Vinno and I were left at the picnic mat to guard the things and get a video of everything
- Around 6PM past, my sister came and I had to find her around the field cause she couldn’t find us. I left Vinno with the video camera to find her
- Few minutes later, onee-chan came back to the picnic mat. We took pictures of ourselves through the timer feature of the DSLR (with the Night Glow as the backdrop.. At least for a few pictures..
) - While we where taking our vanity shots, the fireworks suddenly started so onee-chan had fumbled to fix her camera and I quickly jumped to the picnic mat to get the video camera out.
- The fireworks was not much. Onee-chan said something broke with their fireworks thing so they couldn’t continue on.. Aww :(
- After which, we went back to the car.
And that ends the festival… But not my day.
- We got out of the Festival site after a few dusts from here and there from everyone leaving the site. The place was jam-packed of people leaving Clark Air Base so can you imagine the traffic. We had to go around Clark so as not to join the rest of the traffic after leaving the parking space.
- I fell asleep while we were on our way to SM Clark. My sister had to buy something so we went there, and if I remember correctly, I slept while we were getting gas and I woke up when we were already at SM Clark which was around 8:55PM already.
- After SM, we were headed to Dau Bus Terminal to drop off Vinno as he was already going to go back to Manila. Again, I fell asleep while on the way there. I woke up and it was already 9:50PM and we were still stuck in traffic. My sisters were already mad at all the people that tires to cut them because of trying to counter-flow and then cutting just to be able to get back on track.
- We arrived at the terminal around past 10, dropping off Vinno.
- We got home around 10:30PM
- Ate dinner and then took our baths.
- Onee-chan and my sister are now taking care of the sleeping Alex as my parents are both in the hospital, working. Sigh
What a day this had become. I don’t know if we will be returning there tomorrow cause there will still be another Hot Air Balloon flight tomrrow morning, same time. If there will be another one, I’m guessing it will not be this traffic and jam-packed. Today was like their highlight cause today was the only day that had the fireworks and stuff..
The best Valentine’s Day I ever had.

February 19th, 2009 at 3:59 amThat’s awesome that you had such a fun v-day. I didn’t do anything and was sure to stay inside my house all day. LMAO
Oh, and if no one answered you before on your last post. I use the plug-in http://blog.2i2j.com/plugins/wordpress-thread-comment to do the reply thing on WP. It’s the best one out of three others I tried.
